Miranda Lyons, Free Paladin, protector of the star, a traveling knight that drifts about like the wind, with no real direction or purpose other then the upholding her oath. For now, Miranda always seems to find herself in the city of Ul'dah, no matter how far she seems to stray from the city, some unknown tether pulls her back. She finds her interacting with people she never thought she would. Happy to be in this new world, the slightly naive woman wears her heart on her sleeve and is more then excited to meet new people. It's clear from the way she stands and even talks she hails from some house of Ishgard. But whom? If asked, the woman will not answer. Such conversations of the past do not interest her.
"Some things endure.”

Cassandra stands with the contained stillness of someone shaped by roads rather than halls, her bearing learned through necessity instead of instruction. Her features are lean and weathered in a way that suggests distance traveled and choices paid for. An angular face marked by subtle lines earned from exposure rather than age. Her hair is kept practical and unadorned, usually tied back or cut short enough to stay clear of her vision, with no effort spent on symmetry beyond what function demands. Her complexion bears the quiet evidence of time spent outdoors, paled in places, roughened in others, the sort of skin that has known cold nights and long marches. There is nothing ornamental about her appearance. What care she gives herself is deliberate and efficient, meant to preserve capability rather than presentability. Her posture is balanced rather than perfect, shoulders relaxed but ready, stance subtly grounded as though prepared to absorb impact rather than command space. She does not announce herself through stillness; she endures within it. Her presence is quiet, unassuming, and difficult to dislodge. Less a figure that draws the eye, and more one that remains once noticed, like a wall that has always been there.

“If this is my burden, I will carry it correctly.”
Personality Snapshot
Enduring.
Plain-spoken.
Restrained.
Unassuming.
Watchful.
Fiercely protective.
Beneath the restraint and road-worn composure lies a woman who protects without hesitation, attaches without claiming, and would rather disappear than become a burden. No trust unless it has been earned through action, and no devotion that demands to be seen. What she gives, she gives quietly... and never expects returned.Combat Style:
Practical Defensive Training
Cassandra’s movements lack the polish of advanced dueling, but every step is purposeful. Her stance is grounded, her footwork adaptive, shaped by uneven terrain and prolonged engagements rather than clean floors or measured bouts. Those familiar with combat will recognize a style built around survival: conserving energy, maintaining balance, and denying opponents easy openings.Close-Quarters Endurance Combatant
Rather than overwhelming foes quickly, Cassandra specializes in sustained pressure. She uses minimal aether, favoring physical control, positioning, and resilience. When magic is present, it is subtle and functional, reinforcing her body or blade rather than announcing itself. She fights close, where retreat is costly and commitment matters.Endurance Over Display
Her approach favors longevity over spectacle. She excels at:
Holding ground under sustained pressure.Forcing opponents into mistakes through patience.Protecting others by interposing herself without hesitation.Continuing to fight long after others would have withdrawn.
Placement of body and blade to receive force without anger.
Strikes delivered with weight and intention, never excess.
Stillness held long enough to invite error.
Pressure applied patiently, until strength becomes surrender.
She does not seek the moment that ends you, she remains until there is no other ending..
Unyielding Stillness Under Strain
Cassandra does not project calm so much as inhabit it. Pressure settles into her rather than breaking across her surface. She neither hardens nor reacts outwardly; she simply continues. Opponents who rely on momentum, intimidation, or spectacle often falter against her... not because she resists them, but because she gives them nothing to push against.Patient Against Magic Users
Through long exposure rather than formal tutelage, Cassandra has learned to endure and dismantle spellwork by:Closing distance when casting demands focus.Breaking rhythm instead of counter-casting.Using terrain and proximity to deny clean incantations.Waiting out bursts of power rather than contesting them.
Notable Weaknesses
Because she relies on patience, restraint, and persistence, Cassandra can struggle against:
Opponents who refuse engagement entirely, forcing prolonged stalemates.
Foes who fight without rhythm, discipline, or concern for consequence.
Situations that demand swift, decisive action over continued endurance.
Battles where retreat is the wiser choice, one she is slow to take.
“The Silent Guard” Reputation:
Among those who have crossed her path, it is quietly said that there is a woman who does not advance, does not boast, and does not retreat... she simply remains. Fighters do not seek her out to prove themselves; they find her when they have already gone too far. Veterans recognize the danger in her stillness, and those who rely on speed or spectacle often underestimate her... until they realize there is no opening to exploit, only time running out.

“Righteousness that demands obedience is not righteousness.”
Weathered by travel and steadied by restraint, she carries her strength without ornament, relying on endurance rather than force. She does not speak of what was left behind, some sacrifices only hold if they are unnamed. To know her is to understand that protection, not recognition, became the rule by which she learned to live.
• Unassuming Presence: She does not command a room, but she anchors it. Characters drawn to quiet competence, veterans, guards, or those who notice what others overlook may find themselves paying attention despite her lack of display.
• Endurance-Focused Combatant: Her fighting style favors patience, positioning, and survival over spectacle. Fighters, mercenaries, or tacticians may recognize someone shaped by prolonged conflict rather than formal training—and want to understand how she lasts.
• The One Who Left: It is evident she chose absence deliberately. Characters attuned to loss, exile, quiet sacrifice, or unfinished histories may sense that her distance is protective rather than detached.
• Grounded Stance: She moves like someone accustomed to holding ground rather than winning praise. Any combatant who values resilience, defense, or attrition may test her—not for glory, but to see if she truly does not break.
• Reserved but Present: She does not invite attention, yet remains difficult to ignore once noticed. Observers, empaths, or those who read silence as carefully as speech may be drawn to what she withholds.
• Complicating Factor: She is not aligned, titled, or easily claimed—but her presence changes outcomes. Characters with plans, escorts, moral dilemmas, or dangerous roads may find her an unexpected variable they cannot easily account for.
Hooks!
Do not rush her: She responds to patience.
Share the work, not the credit: She respects reliability.
Endure discomfort without complaint: She trusts those who last.
Ask what needs doing, not who she is: She values usefulness over curiosity.
"Duty before desire."

Thank you for giving my carrd a read. It's very much a work in progress still. More details and flair still need to be added to it. Miranda is an older character of mine and has been in a bit of limbo stage. I'm working on a few things to bring her story alive.
Walk ups: If you are shy or if you want to come RP with Miranda, please do! Even if you see her talking to someone else. When RP is involved, the more people involved the better!
Work: Sadly I can not dedicate as much love as I would like to this character as work often pulls me away. As I really do love my job and don't see myself leaving anytime soon, I'm afraid to announce my schedule is very much in the air. There might be long periods of time where I am simply not available.
